Welcome to Beech Class page!
Welcome to Beech class! Our next class topic is called “Guess Who?!” and is all about the individual child including their interests, families, the things which make us all different and individual, and the things which make us all the same! We will look forward to exploring the changing season over this term too, looking for signs of autumn during our forest school sessions for example. After half term we will cover the topic Traditional Tales and explore stories such as The Gingerbread man and The Little Red Hen. We plan to follow a recipe from the Little Red Hen and bake and eat our own bread! Towards Christmas we will begin rehearsing our Nativity production ready to share with parents and families!
During a child’s first term in Reception we concentrate on helping children settle into aspects of the Reception class which are new to them such as wearing a uniform or getting changed into kit for P.E. There are many exciting new additions to their day in school, but many aspects of the school day will still be familiar to them as they are still in our Early Years unit and following the EYFS curriculum.
