Elm 2018-2019
Elm Class
Welcome to the new school year everyone. I am delighted at the children's effort this Autumn, they have done themselves proud and set a very high standard for the year ahead.
So far, Elm have started story writing about adventures in the Amazon as well as learning place value and written addition and all multiplication facts up to 12s. I regularly set the children small homework too. These can range from learning number facts, spellings or something fun make or bring in.
Please sign planners with your child's reading and use the space to ask any quires you may have. Alternatively, I am on the door at the end of the day.
In forest school we have managed to grow our own vegetables...
They tasted good too...
With a special thanks to Mrs Bache for helping here...
In October, Elm Class participated in an African themed day.
We created our own songs using authentic tribal drums.
After we got the hang of songs, various children got to orchestrate their own music.
Later that day, we created fact files based on the Congolese Rain forest.
What a fun day!
Thanks
Mr Smith
