Elm 2024 - 2025
Autumn 2
This term in Elm has been very busy, we have been learning all about Polar Explorers! We have learnt about Ernest Shackleton and we have looked at his journey he took. In science we have been looking at the human body and the bones inside our skeleton! We have also been looking at how we can keep it healthy with the food we consume and what food groups they are from. Elm have enjoyed swimming this year and have all made brilliant progress. In guided reading we have been reading the book ‘The Pugs of The Frozen North’, we have enjoyed using our guided reading VIPERS skills to understand the story.
Autumn 1
We have been up to lots this half term in Elm. Our topic this half term has been ‘Our Blue Planet’, as apart of our learning we have created non-chronological reports about Oceans. We have learnt all about living things and their habitats, we went to the Sea Life Centre and got to see some Ocean habitats. We have been working on routines in gymnastics and putting our balances all together. As well as developing our striking and defending skills in football with Kidderminster Harriers. In history we have looked at children’s lives in the Victorian times and compared them to our lives today. We look forward to learning all about ‘Polar Explorers’ next half term.
