Sports Premium 16/17

The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is being allocated to primary school head-teachers.  This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. Funding is an £8000 lump sum with an additional £5.00 per child aged 5-11.  Schools have flexibility on how they use the funding but it should be used to increase and improve physical education available to pupils. Development and training of staff to provide sustainable improvements is also a key focus.

How do we use Sports Premium Funding

During 2016/2017 Alveley Primary School received £8370.

Sport Funding – 2016 - 2017

  • Use of professional coaching organisations including "SportsJam" and ECB.
